Global Educator (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operating at globaleducator.net, provides bilingual virtual K-12 education programs, AI-enhanced learning tools, cyber charter services (in partnership with ABCCS), dropout prevention, juvenile justice rehabilitation, Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, and related professional development and family engagement services. We are committed to protecting the privacy of students, parents, educators, administrators, and schools we serve.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information through our website and services, including our unified Global Educator dashboard and integrations with partners such as Asksia AI, Storypie, MND Kids, ScillaLearning, Oliv.IA, and Arcana AI.

1. Information We Collect

• Personal and Educational Information: Names, email addresses, student IDs, academic records, transcripts, audio files, notes, and other data uploaded or generated through our AI tools (e.g., Asksia AI transcripts/Q&A, Storypie custom stories, ScillaLearning mentoring sessions). This data is typically provided by schools, districts, parents, or guardians.

• Account and Usage Data: Login credentials (for dashboard access), IP addresses, device information, browser type, pages visited, and interaction data with AI features.

• Children’s Information: We collect data from K-12 students (including those under 13). For users under 13, we rely on school-provided FERPA consent or obtain verifiable parental consent where required by COPPA.

• Cookies and Tracking: Standard website cookies, analytics pixels, and session data for functionality and performance.

We do not collect sensitive information (e.g., race, health data) beyond what is necessary for bilingual/ELL services or special education accommodations.

2. How We Use Information

• To deliver and personalize our bilingual cyber education programs, AI-powered learning pathways, CTE certifications, and virtual diplomas.

• To operate AI tools (e.g., summarization, translation, custom storytelling, visual generation) and improve educational outcomes.

• To communicate with users (e.g., progress reports, family portals, newsletters via the “Subscribe” feature on globaleducator.net).

• To comply with legal obligations, support dropout prevention and juvenile justice programs, and analyze aggregate metrics (e.g., retention, engagement).

• For internal research and product improvement, but never selling student data.

3. Sharing and Disclosure

We share information only as necessary:

• With partner schools/districts and ABCCS under FERPA-compliant agreements (we act as a school service provider).

• With our technology partners (Asksia AI, Storypie, etc.) solely for delivering integrated services; each partner maintains its own FERPA/COPPA compliance where applicable.

• With service providers (hosting, analytics) under strict data-processing agreements.

• For legal reasons (court orders, safety emergencies) or business transfers.

We never sell personal student data. International transfers (if any, e.g., to Latin America adaptations) include appropriate safeguards.

4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & FERPA)

• COPPA: For children under 13, we obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information where required. Parents may review, delete, or opt out of their child’s data by contacting us.

• FERPA: When schools provide student records, we treat them as “school officials” under FERPA and only use data for educational purposes authorized by the school.

• Storypie and other partners are explicitly FERPA/COPPA compliant; we align our practices accordingly.

5. Security and Data Retention

We use industry-standard encryption, access controls, and regular audits to protect data. Data is retained only as long as needed for the educational purpose or required by law. Upon request or contract end, we securely delete or return student records.

6. Your Rights

• Access, correct, or delete your data (subject to school policies for student records).

• Opt out of marketing communications (unsubscribe link or email info@globaleducator.net).

• California residents: Additional CCPA rights apply (right to know, delete, opt out of sales — note: we do not sell data).

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will post the new version with the updated effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
